The terms that govern your use of BytePad.
By downloading, installing, or using BytePad from the Mac App Store, you agree to these Terms of Use as well as Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not agree, do not use the software.
Upon purchasing BytePad through the Mac App Store, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on any Mac signed into your Apple ID, in accordance with Apple's App Store terms. This license is for personal or commercial use.
You may not:
BytePad is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. All payment processing, receipts, and billing are handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Refund requests are handled by Apple through their Report a Problem page. We do not process refunds directly, as all transactions go through the App Store.
Updates to BytePad are delivered through the Mac App Store. All updates are included with your purchase at no extra cost.
BytePad and all related materials (code, design, documentation, trademarks) are owned by BytePad. Your purchase grants usage rights only. It does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.
All files, documents, and content you create or edit with BytePad are entirely yours. We claim no rights to your work. Your content is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us.
BytePad is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BytePad and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue arising from your use of the software. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app.
You may stop using BytePad at any time by deleting the app. We may terminate your right to use the software if you violate these terms. Apple may also remove the app from the App Store at any time in accordance with their policies.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date below. Continued use of the software after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Upon purchasing a valid license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use BytePad Pro on up to 2 Macs that you own or control. This license is for personal or commercial use.

Each license key is personal to the purchaser. If we detect that a key is being shared or abused, we reserve the right to deactivate it. You can manage your activations from your account at bytepad.app.
BytePad Pro includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. When the trial expires, a valid license key is required to continue using the app. No credit card or account is needed for the trial.
Your license includes 1 year of free updates from the date of purchase. After that year, you may continue using your current version indefinitely. Access to versions released after your update period requires an update extension ($7 for an additional year). This is entirely optional.
